Now you can defend yourself and fight those muggers! Learn street MMA.

The world is not a safe place, it's the truth and we have to accept it. Open your TV and watch the news, you'd see a lot of them. We just can't trust every person around us, we don't know what they're thinking. Muggers are bullies with knives that wants more and has the guts to do it. And they will!

The first defense is always running away. Don't fight back, run! But what will you do when you are already trapped in a situation and running isn't an option anymore? You got to learn how to turn the situation into your advantage, but how? All you need to learn is how to use your environment as your ally and your knowledge as your offense.

Street MMA - The principles of Mixed Martial Arts as applied for non-sport situations. There seem to be fewer mixed martial artists interested in this as compared to sport MMA, though the number of practitioners is growing. In practice, many, though not all, of the persons doing this come from a Jeet Kune Do background, and sometimes call what they do Jeet Kune Do (ex. Matt Thornton, Erik Paulson)

Most Street MMAers believe that sport MMA merely needs some changes in strategy (less emphasis on staying on the ground, more weapons awareness) and the addition of some techniques to become highly effective for the street. By far the most common addition to street-oriented MMA is Filipino martial art (FMA) training, due to its emphasis on, and practical use of weaponry, primarily the stick and knife. ~ Atlanta Martial Arts ~

TUF International: UFC Philippines "The Ultimate Fighter" update.

Dana White just said it, so definitely the first International TUF Season will be in Philippines. This big MMA event will show the world if Philippines has their own version of Manny Pacquiao in Martial Arts... or will they produce one. If you look closely how Philippine fighters grapple, sprawl, choke, elbow, kick, punch then you'd see A LOT of ALDO like fighters. Quick, crisp, technical striking plus powerful sprawling. Philippines ain't just BOXING country but a Combat sports Nation. Read this Country's History then you'd know!

Pinoy has World Muay Thai champions like Ole Baguio Laursen fighting in ESPN's MMA Martial Combat (now ONE FC). Former Martial Combat Lightweight champion Eduard Folayang, who is also a World Wushu Champion will definitely crush lightweights signed in UFC. URCC and Fearless MMA promotions can give quality fighters from Baguio's Team Lakay, YawYan Ardigma, Pinoy Top Team, Gracie Barra, and powerhouse DEFTAC. Hell yeah! and that is aside from UFC's Mark Munoz, Brandon Vera, Philippe Nover and Strikeforce undefeated HeavyWeight (World Muay Thai Champ) Shane Del Rosario.

The Ultimate Fighter: The Ultimate Fighter is an American reality television series and mixed martial arts (MMA) competition produced by Spike TV and the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). The show features unknown, professional MMA fighters living together in Las Vegas, Nevada, and follows them as they train and compete against each other for a prized contract with the UFC. The series debuted on January 17, 2005, with its first episode, "The Quest Begins". To date, there have been twelve seasons of the show, two per calendar year, with a thirteenth scheduled. Mixed Martial Arts, a pound for pound combat sports popularized by Brazil's Gracie Clan. Gracie Jiu Jitsu schools would go a test their skills by fighting all different styles of Martial Arts. Creating and eventually started the revolution of Mixed martial arts tournaments.

Hélio Gracie, had 19 professional fights in his career. He began his fighting career when he submitted professional boxer Antonio Portugal in 30 seconds in 1932. In that same year, he fought American professional wrestler Fred Ebert for fourteen 3 minute rounds. The event was claimed to have been stopped because Brazilian law did not allow any public events to continue after 2:00 AM, but in an interview Gracie admitted that he was stopped by the doctor due to the high fever caused by a swelling, and he had to undergo an urgent operation next day.

Gracie fought Polish professional wrestler Wladek Zbyszko in 1934, who was billed as a former world champion, for three 10 minute rounds. Even though the wrestler was almost twice Gracie's weight, he could not defeat him, and the match ended in a draw. Gracie then defeated Taro Miyake, a Japanese professional wrestler and judoka (practitioner of judo) who had an extensive professional fighting record and worked for Ed "Strangler" Lewis in the United States of America.

MMA expanded and reached almost every end of the WORLD. UK has the British BAMMA, in Phillipines the URCC and Fearless, Singapore Martial Combat which is being aired on ESPN.

Other Martial Arts are already incorporating other styles for them to reach another level in mix fighting. Yaw Yan in Philippines are putting in Jiu Jitsu moves aside from their crisp stand up fighting. Boxing punching prowess plus their Muay Thai attack attitude.
